I've taken a hydrofoil through a typhoon before - even flight didn't stop a huge wave from throwing me six inches off my seat. They're pretty calm and smooth when conditions are normal though.

if you are talking about the one ghat services HK bay, ive done that one too. Do they still also run the hovercraft to Lan Tau?

A drive? Well, it's been a long time since I was there. The Brits still ran the show last time I was there.

Yup. The government's built a suspension bridge connecting the mainland with Lantau now. That way, people can drive to the airport without having to take a ferry.

Makes sense, I guess, but it does take away that James Bond sense of adventure you got by taking the hovercraft.....
